Round, oblong and custom float balls
Three ranges, both stainless grades, any thread. Round floats from 1½″ to 14″, oblong floats from 2×6″ to 9×14″, and the fittings that drop them into your assembly — threaded, through-tube, magnetic, pressure-tested.
Three ranges
Start with the shape. Grade, thread, finish and testing are specified on top of it — the most common sizes and threads are held in inventory, everything else is drawn and welded to order.

Round Float Balls
Hollow stainless spheres in 12 standard diameters, 1½″ to 14″. 304ss as standard, 316ss on request, matte through mirror finish.

Oblong / Oval Floats
Cylindrical floats with classic NPT or UNC fittings — eight stock configurations from 2×6″ up to 9×14″, for tanks where a sphere will not fit the geometry.

Options
The fittings layer — any thread tapped to order, welded-in through tubes, sealed magnets and on-site pressure testing.

| Range | Sizes | Grades | Stock threads |
|---|---|---|---|
| Round float balls | 12 diameters, 1½″ – 14″ | 304ss / 316ss | ¼-20 through ¾ NPT |
| Oblong / oval floats | 8 configurations, 2×6″ – 9×14″ | 304ss / 316ss | ¼-20 and ¾ NPT |
| Custom builds | Any diameter, any length | 304ss / 316ss; Monel & Hastelloy on request | Any spec, tapped to order |
What you can specify
Everything below is specified on top of the shape and size. If your spec isn't listed, send the thread callout, a drawing or the old float and we'll match it.
- Grades: 304ss as standard, 316ss on request — Monel and Hastelloy also available
- Threads: NPT, UNC, metric, non-standard and legacy specs tapped to order
- Through tubes: ⅜″ to ¾″ rod on 5″ to 12″ balls, welded in-house
- Magnets: sealed inside the ball, held in the orientation your sensor needs
- Attachments: loops, hooks and other fittings welded on request
- Finishes: matte as-welded, brushed seam or all-over, full mirror polish
- Testing: on-site pressure testing to your spec, certification per float on request
304ss or 316ss?
304 is the default grade and covers most general-duty float work. 316 adds molybdenum for chlorides and acidic media — specify it when 304's corrosion margin is not enough.
| Property | 304ss | 316ss |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Default stock grade | Corrosion-resistant upgrade |
| Alloy | Chromium-nickel stainless | Chromium-nickel with molybdenum |
| Typical media | Ambient water, fuel, low-chloride process media | Chlorides, salt water, acidic and sanitary media |
| Sizes | All standard round and oblong sizes | All standard round and oblong sizes |
| Finishes | Matte, brushed, mirror polish | Matte, brushed, mirror polish |
| Cost | Lower — best price and availability balance | Higher — specified for the corrosion margin |
